Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Margaret Bresnahan, age 92, died Thursday, June 9, 1988. Funeral services were held Monday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon,Iowa. Burial was in Mt.Olivet Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Jack and Bob Peyton, Don Baxter, Terry Mulholland, Francis Hammel, Leo Murphy, Bob O'Neill, and Jack Futeney.
She was born May 1, 1896 in Ayrshire, Iowa to Daniel and Julia (Griffin) O'Brien. On June 22, 1921 she married Frank Bresnahan. She was a member of St.Patrick's Church and the Rosary Society.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Will and Jim O'Brien, and four sisters, Sister Mary Agnes, Nora Fitzpatrick, Mary Duffy, and Alice Bresnahan.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Geraldine, Mrs. Terence Peyton and Maxine Baxter, both of Waukon, Iowa; 2 sons, Bernard Bresnahan of Waukon, Iowa and Harold Bresnahan of Evansville, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sister Mary Daniel of Mt. Loretta in Dubuque, Iowa, and a brother, Daniel O'Brien of Pocahontas, Iowa.
