Allamakee Journel Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1908Mrs. Lucinda Jones was born in Cass County, IN, December 6, 1832. Her maiden name was Lucinda Neff. She was married to Elam B. Jones, December 25, 1849. The family moved to Waukon in 1856. and after about six years removed to the farm which was her home until death. Of the fourteen children, one died in infancy, and Mrs. Arabella Hill died Nov. 22, 1905, at Cass Lake, Minn. The twelve now living are as follows:John H. Jones, Mrs. Mary Marsden, Wm. K. Jones, Sarah A. Forkey (in Canada), Lewis Jones, Mrs. Ida Arnold, Melvin Scott Jones, Miss Amanda McConaty, Cora Jones, Frank Jones, Lucy Jones and Charley Jones. Fred, a grandchild has always made his home with them and considered as one of the family.
Mrs. Jones in early womanhood joined the M. E. church on probation. When her husband became a member of the Presbyterian church she always attended that church, but never united with it. This couple walked together as husband and wife for 58 years and 20 days, and now are parted a little while. She died Jan. 15, 1908, aged 75 hears, 1 month and 9 days
