Idella Ward died Thursday, July 14, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa at the age of 88. Funeral services were held Saturday July 16 at 10 a.m. at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Judd Larson officiating. Burial was in the churcvhh cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Richard, Daryl, and David Hansmeier, Gary Ward, Greg Berns and Joe Bakke.

Idella was born February 6, 1900 in Turnerville, New Jersey to Edwin and Rebecca Irvin. She attended school in New Jersey. On February 1919 she married Herbert B. Ward, Sr. in New Jersey. He died in 1958. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Ann; 2 brothers, Edward Irvin and Cooper Irvin and 4 sisters, Eleanor, Alma, Maude, and Anna.

Surviving are a son Herbert of Waukon; 2 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and 2 brothers, Arthur Irvin of Blackwood, New Jersey and Warthman Irvin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
