Rowhena Florence Garrison, age 79, died Saturday, October 31, 1987 at her home in southeast Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 3, 1987 at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were Wayne Schmieden, Melvin Steffenson, Joe Curtin, Dennis Kelly, Dale Ellis, and Gilbert Eadie.

Rowhena was born June 11,1908 in Champaign, Illinois to Oscar and Blanche Ellen (Nelson) Garrison. She graduated from Champaign High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Champaign and also in a defense plant in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended beautician school in Iowa City, Iowa and worked as a beautician in Waukon, Iowa called "Rowena's" located in the Vet's Club building for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Kelly, brother-in-law Creston C."Pinger" Kelly, and gt.nephew Stephen Dale Kelly.

She is survived by her nephews Donald D. Kelly of Nashville, Tennessee, Forest "Toey" (Evelyn) Kelly of Postville, Iowa, and James Lee Kelly of Kansas City, Missouri; 5 great-nieces and nephews, and 7 gt.gt. nieces and nephews.
