Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 15 for Gretta C. Lane, age 81, who died Friday, March 10, 1989 at her Waterloo, Iowa home. The 11 a.m. services were held at St.Edward's Catholic Church in Waterloo with burial in Mount Oilvet Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. O'Keefe and Towne-Carter and Waychoff Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Gretta was born February 26, 1908 in New Albin, Iowa to Michael and Margaret (Danaher) Ryan. On September 12, 1933 she married A.M.Lane in Dorchester, Iowa. He died in 1971.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Clarie; a brother Emmett Ryan and five sisters, Blanche Reburn, Bernice McCormick, Rita Welch, Evelyn Dougherty and Cleophas Ryan.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy Lane of Des Moines, Iowa and Michael J. Lane of Knoxville, Iowa; three daughters, Suzanne Gutknecht and Patricia Cain, both of Waterloo, and Elizabeth Schrock of Iowa City, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister, Mae Petrehn of Clinton, Iowa.
