Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28 at St.Rose Convent Chapel in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for Sr. Jane Frances (Malinda) Ferring. F.S.P.A.

She was born January 28, 1911 to Peter and Mary (Gander) Ferring near Lansing, Iowa and attended rural schools until fifth grade when she enrolled in Immaculate Conception grade school in Lansing. After graduation, she entered St.Rose Convent in LaCrosse. She attended college during her novitiate and taught third grade for three years before moving into the nursing profession.

In 1942 she received an RN degree at St.Frances Hospital, and in 1943 a BS degree in education from Viterbo College in LaCrosse. In 1944 she took a post graduate course in pediatrics at St.Frances Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. She served as a health care professional for 45 years before retiring to Villa St. Joseph in 1985.

Surviving are five sisters, Ethel Buckmann of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Florence Manning and Veronica Conway, both of Lansing, Iowa and Elsie Haas and Clara Guider, both of Waukon, Iowa. Her nephew, Msgr. Robert Ferring was celebrant at the mass of Christian burial.
