Arthur Charles Hammon, age 72, of rural Waukon, Iowa died Thursday, January 19, 1989 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 22 at Martin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lynn Groe conducted the 1 p.m. services and burial in the Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Greg and Jeff Leppert, Winton and Norman Barth, and Noel and Rory Schlitter. Honorary pallbearers were Hava Oelberg, Lyle Moose, Milbourn Johnson, James Troendle, Dale Hartong, Gale Burroughs, and John Collins.

Arthur Hammon was born August 26, 1916 in Allamakee County, Iowa to Charles H. and Bessie (Brainard) Hammon. He attended local school and was a member of St.John's Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Grace, Jane, and Alice.

Surviving are a brother, Charles Hammon of Waukon, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Winfield (Lula) Barth of Independence, Iowa, four nieces and four nephews.
