Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, July 18 for Idelia Thygeson, 98, who died Sunday, July 16, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. Lynn Groe will conduct the 1:30 p.m. services at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be Conrad Roldson, Carlton Christianson, Milo Kloke, Ordell Sorenson, Ray Odegard, and Hilmen Christianson.
Idelia was born June 11, 1891 in rural Waterville, Iowa to Lars and Mary (Thompson) Thygeson. She attended Elon school through the sixth grade. She was baptized and confirmed at Old East Paint Creek Church where she was still a member. She was active in many church activities such as former organist, Ladies Aid, Luther League, and church projects. She moved to Waukon in 1960 from the Waterville farm where she had worked with her parents and brother. She moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 1983.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Inger Grangaard of Waukon, Iowa. She was preceded in death by a brother Thorvald Thygeson and two sisters, Luella and Anne.
