Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 14 at 10 a.m. for August William Haak, 91, of Casper, Wyoming. He died Saturday, June 10, 1989 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch will conduct the graveside services at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was born November 3, 1897 in Elmhurst, Illinois to August and Ernestine (Barr) Haak. He served in the military during World War I reaching the rank of sergeant. On May 2, 1925 he married Frances Cynthia DeWitt in Marengo, Iowa. She died May 27, 1985. He was a florist for many years in Flora, Illinois. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Forsch of Casper, Wyoming and a sister-in-law, Marian DeWitt of Waukon, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son August, a sister Ann and two brothers Paul and Oscar Haak.
