Funeral services for Duane Block were held Saturday, July 8, 10 a.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Postville,Iowa. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dean Block, Russ Aarhus, Karl Parkes, Gregory Kessel, Eric Block, Scot Block, Lee Block, and Randy Kessel.

Duane Milo Delbert Block, son of Lawrence and Hulda (Kuhse) Block, was born January 30,1947 at Postville, Iowa. He died as a result of an automobile accident in West Remington Township, Wood County, Wisconsin on July 5, 1989. He was baptized and confirmed in St.Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. He attended the Postville Community Schools. He moved to the LaCrosse, Wisconsin area with his mother, where he has lived for over 20 years. He had been employed at the Country Kitchen in LaCrosse. Duane enjoyed bowling and bicycling. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lyle. Surviving are 2 brothers, Marvin and his wife, Ida, Oxford, Iowa and Curtis, Ely, Iowa; a sister, Eileen and her husband, Harry Kessel, Hokah, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.
