Services Held For John Dundee
Services for John Dundee will be held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, today (Wednesday) February 5 at 11 a.m. Mr. Dundee died Sunday, February 2 at the Community Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for three years.
The Rev. Dick Harberts will officiate with interment in the Postville Cemetery.
John H. was the son of Orrin and Ida Brandis Dundee. He was born September 27, 1894 in Allamakee county, receiving his education and spending his childhood in Allamakee county. He served in the armed services during World War I, being inducted on February 24, 1918 and discharged May 26, 1919.
He was united in marriage to Clara Lawson on January 25, 1922 in Decorah. To this union six children were born.
Mr. Dundee farmed for many years then moved to Postville in 1959. He worked for the City of Postville for several years.
Survivors include his wife Clara, a brother Lawrence of Postville, one sister, Mrs. Phil (Mae) Steffens of Clermont and his six children, Roland and Curtis of Postville; Mrs. Edwin (Betty) Hawkins of Waukon; Duane and Dean of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Jones of Harpers Ferry. There are also 23 grandchildren, four step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, William, Wallie, Fred and Frank; two sisters, Anne and Lillian; also three grandsons, John Jones, Larry Dundee and Mark Dundee.
