Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Norman "Norm" L. Russell, 68, Marion, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 29, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa after a long illness. He was born July 6, 1921 in Waukon, Iowa to Gustave and Julia (Tollefson) Russell. He was married to Barbara H. Holliday September 8, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a cab driver for 27 years and owned and operated Norm's Home Furnishings until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Marion and an Army veteran of WWII.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters: Debbie Theisen and Linn McGee, both of Marion; Judy Seeman and Janice Boyle, both of Cedar Rapids, and Susan Manley of Keota, Iowa; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Friday at 10 a.m. at the Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Del Bear of the Free Methodist Church of Marion. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery with military graveside services by the American Legion Hanford Post 5.
