Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Wilhelmine Katherina Meiners, 84, Eitzen, MN died Thursday, August 24, 1989 in Caledonia Health Care Center, MN. She was born December 1, 1904 in New Albin, Iowa to Christian Henry and Anna (Kruckenburg) Hein. She married Paul J. Meiners June 4, 1924 in St. John's Wheatland Church, rural New Albin. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended rural schools in Houston County. She farmed with her husband near Eitzen until 1957 when they retired and moved to Eitzen. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ and its women's fellowship.
Survivors are two sons, Ronald and Rodney, both of Eitzen; three daughters Geneva Renk of New Albin, Marveen Feil of Eitzen, and Linda Nuttall of Reno, NV; 19 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, three sisters, and five brothers.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in St.Luke's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Irwin Young officiated and burial was in St. Luke's Cemetery. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia was in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Richard Renk, Robert Renk, Ronald Meiners,Jr., Greg Meiners, David Meiners, and Doyle Gilbertson.
