Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2 for Patrick O'Malley, 77, of Waukon, Iowa. He died Sunday, October 29, 1989. Father John Mosher conducted the services at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. Burial was in the Hanover Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 25, 1912 in Waukon to Thomas and Ellen Jane (McCullough) O'Malley. He was a graduate of Waukon High School, Waukon Junior College, and Loras College in Dubuque. He lived in Wichita, KS while employed by Beechcraft Aviation Company before enlisting in the military service. During WWII he was a member of the Army Air Corps serving in the European Theater.
On January 30, 1950 he married Mary Jean Marsden in Waukon. He was a farmer and a member of St. Patrick's Church and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife and five children, James T. O'Malley of Madison, WI, Jean Ann O'Malley of Minneapolis, MN, Francis (Frank) O'Malley, Mrs. Terry (Kathy) Barth, both of Waukon, and John O'Malley of Gillette, WY.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anastasia O'Malley and Dr. Martha O'Malley and a brother, John F. O'Malley.
Casket bearers were Patrick Bresnahan, Kenneth Hall, Daniel Marsden, James McCormick, Dennis O'Malley, and James Snitker.
