Kathryn Herberger, 99, of Waukon, died Nov. 24, 2000, in Waukon.
Funeral services were held Mon., Nov. 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, under the direction of Fr. Schmitt. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Waukon.
Kathryn J. Herberger was born Oct. 8, 1901, in rural Waukon, the daughter of Joseph McAneny and Ellen Ryan. She married Henry Herberger on Nov. 28, 1922, at St. Patrick's Church in Dubuque. For a time, she was a resident of St. Louis, MO. She was a housewife and served as a clerk for Famous and Bar Department Store. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Waukon. Kathryn held several offices in the women's groups at her church in St. Louis. She also volunteered transportation services for the elderly and served on the St. Vincent DePaul altar society.
Kathryn is survived by two sisters, Ann Goepel and Alice Armstrong; nieces, Judy Kay Fischer and Kristen Bruno; and great nieces and nephew, Katie and Beckie Fischer and John and Jackie Bruno.
Honorary casketbearers were Essie Campbell, Dorothy Davis, Harriet Dugan, Regis Foley, and the Vernon Gallagher family.
Casketbearers were Joe Cunningham, Dan Cunningham, Cletus Rooney, Jim Campbell, Mike Gallagher, and Jim Mellick.
