Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home last Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. for Horace Dennison, 51, who passed away at his home in Waterloo on Saturday, August 4. The rites were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Martin of the Community Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Horace Dennison, son of Joseph and Alice Dennison, was born December 7, 1900 at Kendall, England. He passed away at his home in Waterloo on Saturday, August 4.
Horace studied to be an artist in the schools of England where he developed his talent and became a skilled artist whose work revealed dexterity and expertness.
He was a member of the Church of England.
In the fall of 1927 he came to America.
He was married to Hazel Ewing on April 23, 1944 at Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union one daughter Jennifer was born.
When Horace laid down his tools of life he was a contractor and interior decorator at Waterloo. He was a member of the Master Painters Organization.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel, one daughter Jennifer, two brothers, William of Durham, England and Harry of Bakersfield, California and one sister Mrs. James Coote of Durham, England.
