A celebration of life for Brian J. Schweinfurth 50, of Kalona will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 9:30AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A graveside service will be held at the Utica Lutheran Church Cemetery two miles north of Mt. Sterling, WI. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 4-7PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona 1st Responder’s.
Brian Jon Schweinfurth was born July 1, 1960 in Iowa City the son of Ralph and Vivian (Mikkelson) Schweinfurth. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1978 and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. He was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Brian enjoyed reading, world history, was a Minnesota Vikings fan and loved picking on his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Vivian Schweinfurth of Ferryville, WI, two brothers, Wade Schweinfurth of Omaha, NE, Craig and wife Sue Schweinfurth of Wellman, five nieces and nephews, Jamie and husband Aaron Haack, Ambir and husband Luke Leehy, Joshua Schweinfurth, Julie and husband Ryan Swartzendruber, Alan and wife April Schweinfurth, two great nephews, Tyson Leehy and Kaden Haack and one great niece, Peyton Leehy.
Preceding Brian in death was his father Ralph on October 7, 2010 and his grandparents.
