Funeral Services Held For Harry Davis

Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 29 for Harry Oran Davis, 69, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius Peterson will officiate in the service with interment in the Postville Cemetery. Schutte Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Davis, son of John and Florence (Simpson) Davis, was born Dec. 2, 1910 in Post Township, Allamakee County. He died Oct. 27, 1980 at the Decorah Hospital.

He received his education in the rural South Grove School, Postville High School and Parks Air College in St. Louis. He was married to Marie Everman Feb. 20, 1935. They farmed east of Postville for about 23 years before moving to Postville in 1967 where he worked as a plumber and serviceman.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, a member of Eastern Star and a member of El Kahir Shrine of NE Iowa.

His parents, a brother Ralph and sisters Hazel Hill and Myrtle Hall, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Davis of Lamark, Ill. and Alan Davis of Grayling, Mich.; four grandsons and two granddaughters.
