Contributor: (Relative, Robey researcher)Noel Robey, 75, died August 15, 1980 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born May 20, 1905 to Bert L. Robey and Lois (Lovelace) Robey in Jefferson township, Allamakee County, Iowa and moved to Waukon, Iowa at the age of seven. He graduated in 1925 from the Waukon High School where he lettered in three sports. He held the school record for the broad jump -- 21 feet, 9 inches. After graduation he played with the Clyde Grant and his Iowans band in addition to other bands. He and his wife, Ruth, were married March 19, 1932. She survives as do a son Jerry, two granddaughters and two brothers, L. Eugene Robey of Houston, Texas, and Beverly (Don) Robey of Minneapolis. Burial was in Minnesota.
