Mary B. Welsh's last rites held in Waukon
Mary b. Welsh, 86, of Waukon, died Friday August 7, 1987 at the Waukon Good Samaritan Center.
She was born September 15, 1900 in Hanover township to William and Bridget (Collins) Zoll.
She married Patrick L "Patsy" Welsh on June 8, 1920 in Hanover St. Mary's Church. They farmed in the Lycurgus area for many years.
He preceded her in death on September 27, 1968.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Earl(Kay) Moore of New Albin, Mrs. Cliff (Alice) Armstrong of Tomah, Wis., Mrs. Bob (Mary Lou) Cota and Mrs. Bob (Bernadine ) Heffern of Harpers Ferry, and Mrs. Bob (Ida) Gonsalves of San Jose, Calif., six sons, Robert of New Albin, William, Lloyd, and Jerry of Lansing, and Daniel and Bernard of Waukon. Also surviving are 66 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four infant children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 10, 1987 at 11 a.m. at St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. Rev. Edward Lechtenberg officiated and burial was in the Lycurgus cemetery.
Pallbearers were her six sons. The Hanson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.Allamakee Journal
