KUGEL Amelia Sophia

Amelia Sophia Kugel was born October 24, 1890 in Clayton County, near Garnavillo,Iowa, and departed this life December 7, 1976 at Postville, Iowa at the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to William Kugel on February 22, 1916. To this union five children were born. She and her husband farmed in Grand Meadow Township until 1945 when they retired and moved to Postville. Her husband preceded her in death on December 20, 1974.

She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, for the last 60 years as a member of the St.Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She was an Honor Roll member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church Women and a past president. She was a charter member of the Grand Meadow Country Club.

Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by five children: Vernon, Postville; Donald, Postville; Eunice (Mrs. Eugene Torson) of West Union, Iowa; Gertrude (Mrs. Keith Lee) of Monona, Iowa; and Bernadine (Mrs. Ronald Blumhagen) of Monona. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three sisters, a brother, and many other relatives.

Pallbearers were Robert Kugel, David Kugel, Duane E. Kamp, James Kamp, Tom Kamp, and John Lee. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
