Obituary from the Lansing Mirror, Friday, June 2, 1893- retrieved from microfilm at the Iowa State Historical Society

DIED ---- CHRISTIAN LUTH, a resident of Lafayette township since 1864 died at his home there on the 24th ult., aged 92 years. Mr Luth was quite active up to within a few days of his death, and none realized the call of the Master would be soon made. He made his home with his daughter, the widow Steiber. The deceased was born in Mecklenburg, Germany in 1801. Coming to America he first settled in Milwaukee, and in the year named came to Iowa and to this county where he has since resided. The funeral took place Saturday, interment being in the cemetery near his late home.
