Rites For Mrs. Byrnes Monday

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 6 at 10 AM from St. Mary's church in Hanover for Mrs. Larry (Nora) Byrnes of Hanover township, who died Friday, Sept. 3 in Waukon Veterans Memorial hospital. She had been ill for three weeks.

The Rev. Francis McEnany was the officiating priest and burial was in St. Mary cemetery in Hanover.

Nora Zoll was born July 28, 1883 in French Creek township and was a daughter of William and Bridget Collins Zoll. January 6, 1903 she married Larry Byrnes who preceded her in death.

Survivors are 10 children; Mrs Oswald (Mary) Steinhart of Dorchester; Mrs. John (Gladys) Quillin, Chicago, Ill.; Francis Byrnes, Waukon; Garland Byrnes, Dorchester; Clem Byrnes, Dorchester; Mark Byrnes, Waukon; Mrs. Charles (Anita) Murphy, Waukon; Patrick Byrnes, Kenosha, Wis.; Victor Byrnes, Dorchester; and Mrs. George (Phyllis) Haler of Waukon, 44 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren. Three brothers, Vick, Francis and Emmet Zoll all of Waukon , and two sister, Mrs. Patsy Welsh of Waukon and Mrs. Allie Cunningham of Minot, N.D. also survive. Three brothers, Joe, Willie and Lloyd, and a sister Marie preceded her in death.

Mrs. Byrnes was a member of St. Mary's church in Hanover. She lived in Allamakee county all of her lifetime. Bakke and Hanson was in charge of arrangements.
