William Frederick Miene Jr.

William Frederick Miene Jr., 81, Postville, Iowa, died Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Junior was born on December 21, 1928, in Luana, Iowa, to William and Emma (Konow) Miene.

He was baptized on March 20, 1929, and confirmed on April 18, 1943, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. He attended Luana Grade School and High School.

Junior was united in marriage to Priscilla Marie Meinen on August 14, 1960, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. He dedicated his entire life to farming. He enjoyed mowing lawn, visiting friends and listening to music. He loved listening to Priscilla play the organ.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Miene, Postville; two sisters, Elfrieda Miene, Luana and Ruby Foels, Postville.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tami Sue Miene in 1961; two sisters in infancy; one brother-in-law, LeRoy Foels and one great-great nephew, Collin Harbaugh.

Funeral Services will held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Steve Brackett will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, Iowa, and one hour before services at the church.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
