The Allamakee County Journal..... January 2, 1895

"The aged mother of Mrs. M. Wirth, of Lansing Ridge, died Monday the home of her daughter. "Grandma" Goettle would have been 94 years old in March next. She was a step-mother of Mr. Carl Goettle of Mays Prairie and Mrs. August Boeckemeier of this city, also Mrs. Julius Martin of Ackley, this state. The funeral takes place to-day."

"Mrs. Goettel, aged 94[?] years, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Michael Wirth, on Lansing Ridge. She was the step mother of Mrs. August Boeckemeier of Lansing." [Ed. Note: widow of William Goettel]
