The funeral of Mrs. Casper Jeide are being held today, Wednesday at the Zion Reformed United Church of Christ at 2 p.m. with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Mrs, Jeide passed away on May 3rd at the Hanson Nursing Home where she had been cared for the past 19 months, having been ailing for several years.
Matilda Jeide was born January 23, 1878 in Ludlow township , a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Becker. She had been living in Union Prairie township most of her life until moving to Waukon in 1941, her husband having passed away here in April, 1956.
They were the parents of two sons, Lawrence Jeide, Waukon and Elmer Jeide, rural Waterville, both of whom survive as do six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Ludeking and Mrs. Martha Snitker, both of Waukon.
Pallbearers were Ralph Snitker, Walter Selberg,Urban Sanderman, Elmer Hermeier, Dale Hesse and Ben Winke. Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
