He attended the rural schools of the community and most of his entire life was spent assisting on the home farm. Besides his wife and step-children, he is survived by his parents of Lansing, who were visiting a daughter in Mississippi at the time of his death; two sisters, Izella, Mrs. Keith Cranston, Leland, Miss.; Margaret, Mrs. Paul Miller, Dothan, Ala.; four brothers, Richard and Gerhard, Lansing and vicinity, Freeman of Davenport; Thomas, Winifred, Mont. All of the brothers and sisters will be here for the funeral services. Others who came include two nieces, Mrs. Ed Grewell of Iowa City and Mrs. Ruth Schmitz of Madison, Wis.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Brugger officiating and saying the final prayers at the graveside in Oakland Cemetery where interment will be in the family lot.
