The death of Mrs. Matilda Bugenhagen, 84, occurred on Wednesday, May 24 at the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon where she had been a resident for the past six weeks. Mrs. Bugenhagen had been hospitalized since last February when she suffered a stroke.
Matilda Krambeer was born in Post township, Allamakee county and had lived all her life on a farm in Post township near Hardin, until she and her husband , the late Rudolph Bugenhagen , retired to Monona about 1944. He passed away in 1959.
Surviving are a son, Arne Bugenhagen, Waukon and daughter Gertrude, Mrs. Virgil Kaiser, Monona; two grandchildren and two sisters and one brother, all of Monona.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona on Saturday, May 27 with interment in the Monona cemetery.
