The death of Mrs. M.H. McCracken occurred at the Memorial Hospital, Prairie Du Chien, Wis. on June 30, she having been a patient there for about three months. Funeral services were held from St. Paul's Methodist Church, Waukon on Sunday afternoon, with the Leonard Root officiating.
Fannie Rachel McCracken was born January 15, 1889 in Franklin township, her parents being Albert and Elizabeth Roderick McShane. She was married on February 19, 1913 to Milton H. McCracken at Waukon. They lived on a farm in Franklin township until 1956 when they moved to Waukon and in January of this year went to Marquette to reside at the home of their son Wayne. They were the parents of two children, Wayne McCracken, Marquette and Edna, Mrs. Ralph Flage, rural Postville, who with their father survives. There are five grandchildren. Also the following brothers and sisters, George McShane, Marquette, Henry, Glen and Mrs. Mary Geno, rural Luana; Irvin McShane and Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson, Waukon.
Interment was in Oakland Cemetery with LaVerne Geno, Harold McShane, Charles and Curtis Burnham, Clyde Fish and Leonard Geno acting as pallbearers.
