A funeral mass for Harry Landt was held Saturday, December 23, 2000 at 11 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville. Casket bearers were the grandchildren: Mark, David and Kim Landt and Joni Wisehart, Julie Boysen, Lisa Scharff. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Harry George Landt, the only child of Fred and Elsie (Kluss) Landt, was born March 23, 1908, at Luana, Iowa. He passed away Thursday, December 21, 2000 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. He had reached the age of 92 years, eight months, and 28 days.

He married to Veronica Marie Kohler on June 6, 1932. To this union a son, Robert, was born. They farmed in Grand Meadow township for fifteen years. In 1952 they moved to Postville. Harry became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville on June 28, 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Veronica, who died November 30, 1982, and a great grandson, Christopher Scharff.

Surviving is his son, Robert (Betty) Landt of Hiawatha, Iowa; his six grandchildren: Mark (Jacquie) Landt of Medina, Ohio, David Landt of Tucson, Arizona, Kim (Ann) Landt of Costa Mesa, California, Joni Wisehart and Julie Boysen, both of Wadena, Iowa, and Lisa Scharff of McGregor, Iowa; seven great grandchildren: Jennifer (Todd) Kleiner of Decorah, Iowa, Katelyn Landt and Ian Landt, of California, Josh Martin of Troy Mills, Kerri Schroyer of McGregor, Iowa, Tiffany and Chrystal Scharff of McGregor, Iowa; and two great great grandchildren: Dakota Schroyer and Alexis Fox.

Harry was a member of St. Bridget Catholic church in Postville.
