Earl A. Evans, 86, of Moline, IL, former resident of the Rossville area, passed away at home Monday, April 5. A funeral was held at Van Hae Funeral Home April 7. Attending were Jean Ann Berger and Rusty Berger of Waukon, Lisa Berger of Barneveld, WI, and Jim Moritz and Gary Moritz of Monona.
Earl was born August 16, 1923 at Rossville to Carl and Leta (Rose) Evans. He was a paratrooper in World War II, where he received many medals, and then moved to Moline, IL, where he worked at International Harvester for 40 years. He was also an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; nieces and nephews Jean Ann Berger of Waukon, Gary Moritz of Monona, Joan (Evans) Gallaway of Missouri, Judy Staeder of Silvis, IL, Jeanette Johnson of Moline, IL, John Evans, Jim Moritz of Monona, Kristie (Moritz) Middendorff and girls of Cedar Rapids, Randy and Faiane Berger of California, Rusty and Cynthia Berger of Waukon, Linda and Grant Cox of Utah, Rick and Leslie Berger of Meadville, PA, and Lisa Berger of Barneveld, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Leta; his brothers, Gerald and Lyle; and a sister, Velma Moritz. He will be missed by all.
