CLOY LOUISE MEIER

Services for Cloy L. Meier were held Thursday at the Schutte funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Karlton Wagner officiated. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Luana.

Cloy Louise Meier, son of Christopher and Ida (Gericke) Meier, was born May 9, 1909 in Postville. He graduated from Postville High School. He died Monday evening, May 20 at the Bates Memorial Hospital in Bentonville, AR.

He moved to California in 1957 where he was employed by Brockway Glass company until his retirement June 1, 1974. He moved to Bentonville in 1978. On Feb. 10, 1961 he married Berna Schultz Thornton.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Emil, and a sister, Ruby.

Surviving are his wife, Berna, a son, Allen Meier of Walnut Creek, CA, a daughter, Anita Orsburn, of Aloha, OR, 4 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Melinda Thoma and Lillian Moon, both of Postville and Mathilda Gordanier of Satellite Beach, FL, and a nephew, Donald Gordanier.

A memorial service was also held Sunday, May 26 at The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Rogers, AR with the Rev. Hubert L. Bernthal officiating.
