Former Area Resident Dies
Mrs. LaVonne Thompson, 43, wife of Dr. Ernest L. Thompson, Peoria, Illinois physician, died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday at methodist Hospital where she was admitted June 25. A Peoria resident since 1941, she was born at New Albin, Iowa, June 21, 1917, a daughter of Irving L. and Florence Senn Thomson and was married to Dr. Thompson at Pekin July 3, 1941. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Westminster presbyterian Church, the Women's Auxillary of the Peoria Medical Society and the Mt. Hawley Country Club. Surviving are her husband; her parents of Perry, Iowa; one son, Donald Robert Thompson; one daughter, Linda Sue Thompson, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Taylor of Shadyside, Ohio and Mrs. Paul Harris of Colorado and one brother, Robert Thomson of Fulton. Funeral services were Saturday at the Wilton Mortuary. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery.
