Services for Joseph Ferdinand Haas, who died Sunday, Dec.26 at Waukon of a heart attack, were held Wednesday, Dec.29 at Hanson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert L. Ferring officiated with burial at Lycurgus Cemetery.
Born Sept.19,1909 at Waukon to Ben Haas and Elizabeth Schreiber, he lived in the Waukon area all his life except for armed forces duty in Europe during World War II, and was employed as a construction worker until his retirement.
He was not married and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Leo Ferring of Waukon.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Dougherty, Mrs. Lewis Zeman, and Mrs. Ben Troendle.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Lycurgus and the American Legion.
Casketbearers were Donald Cooper, Buster Sweat, Harlan Hermeier, Frank Mettille, Herb Rissman, and Jim Troendle.
