JAMES A. PARKER LAID TO REST IN COMPTON, CALIFORNIA

Carl Holter of this city is in receipt of a letter from Mrs. J.A. Parker of San Pedro, Calif., in which she tells that she and Mr. Parker had just returned from an eight-day trip to Boulder Dam and other points of interest in company with their daughter Florence and husband and that Mr. Parker was apparently in the best of good health and had thoroughly enjoyed the trip. About a week later he was taken suddenly and seriously ill and passed away on September 10th. A San Pedro paper carried the following announcement, which will be of interest to Postville friends of the family:
"Succumbing to a brief illness, James Albert Parker, 73, died Sept. 10 at his home at 460 Sepulveda street. A resident of San Pedro for the past 24 years, he had retired from active business ten years ago.
"Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Anna V. Parker, two daughters, Mrs. Florence Olsen of San Diego and Mrs. Jessie V. McAllister of San Pedro; two sons, Lester J. and James A. Parker Jr., both of Los Angeles; two brothers, John T. and A.E. Parker, both of Los Angeles; a nephew, E. O. Parker of Los Angeles, and seven grandchildren.
"Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 12th at the Cleveland garden chapel with Rev. W. W. Darsie officiating. Entombment at Angelus Abbey mausoleum, Compton."
