Rites For Mrs. Orrie Gilson
Funeral services were held Monday, May 4 from St. John's Lutheran church in Waukon for Mrs. Orrie Gilson. The Rev. Marlyn Hansing officiated, and burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Mary Dorothea Amundson was born November 21, 1891, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Amundson, and lived her entire lifetime in Allamakee county. She died May 1 after an illness of about eight years duration.
Her husband survives her, as do eight children: Lawrence of Lansing; Mrs. E. A. (Myrtle) Drahn of Monona; Mrs. Vance (Norma) Rosell of Decorah; John of Waukon; Mrs. Dale (Carol) Reeder of Waukon; Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Decorah; Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Steiner of McHenry, Ill., and Dale of Anamosa.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Millie Johnson of Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Hattie Larson of Decorah; Mrs. Lewine Olson of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Ellen Wagner of Milwaukee; Leonard of Waukon; Clarence of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Emmet of Milwaukee. Two brothers, Arthur and Gilbert, are deceased.
There are 29 surviving grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gilson was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.
Pallbearers were Kenneth and Dean Krambeer, Jerome and Ronald Gilson, Stanley Steiner and Robert Rosell.
