Rites Held For Mrs. Lucy Gericke

Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, on Tuesday, June 27, 2:00 p.m., for Mrs. Lucy Gericke, who passed away at Community Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 24. The Rev. Lenwood L. Monte was in charge of the rites; burial was in the Postville cemetery.

Lucy Heins Gericke was born April 7, 1889 in Clayton county. She was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and confirmed in the same church in 1903.

She was married to Fred Gericke on March 26, 1907. They established their home on a farm near Postville where they lived until they moved to the town of Postville. Three children were born to this union, Milo, Clinda and Cloy.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her daughter, Clinda; and her parents. Left to mourn her passing are her two sons, Milo and Cloy; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Sander and Mrs. O. Alfred Olson.
