Funeral services for Vivian A. Gardner, 68, were held Wednesday, Dec. 24, 11 a.m. at Elma. She died Monday, Dec. 22 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, New Hampton.

She was born Feb. 9, 1919 at Waterville, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Randena Hermanson and has lived in the Elma area many years. She was a graduate of Waterville High School.

She married John P. Gardner and they had 12 children. She was employed by Klobossa's Jack & Jill Grocery in Elma for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband John of Elma, 10 sons, James of St. Louis, MO, William of Minneapolis, MN, Gregory of Elma, Charles of Palo, Kevin of Baltimore, MD, Randall of Charles City, Leon, Patrick and Nickolas, all of Cedar Rapids; 2 daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Mary Jane) Palmersheim of Elma and Ann Bunten of Chicago, IL; 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild; 2 sisters, Deloris Anderson of Dubuque and Mildred Pedersen of San Francisco, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Alice, Alma Bergland and Helen Seele and one brother Melvin.
