Rites Held For Roland Gass

Roland Waldemar Gass, son of the late Rev. John Gass and Wilhelmina Borgelt Gass, was born July 5, 1892 at Postville and departed this life on January 25, 1958 at 10:45 p.m. in the hospital at Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 66 years, six months, and 20 days.

He was baptized by his father and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Postville.

The deceased was united in marriage with Ruby Koenig of Postville on May 19, 1920. To this union was born one son, dying in infancy.

Mr. Gass received his education in the Postville Public schools. He was a war veteran and served overseas in World War I. He moved to Minneapolis about 28 years ago and resided there until his death.

Left to mourn his passing are his widow, Mrs. Ruby Gass; two brothers, Arthur and Harold of Postville; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Erbe of Postville; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Services were held at Schutte's Funeral Home Wednesday, January 28, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Kronlokken from Clermont, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery. Assisting with the military funeral were the American Legion and the V. F. W.
