Funeral services for Manford H. Flack were held April 2, 2002, at Friday Harbor, WA.
Manford was born on his grandparents' farm near Monona, attended the Ion School, and worked for local farmers before enlisting in the Navy in 1940 to 1946 on the U.S.S. Colorado in the Philippines.
On Jan. 11, Manford married Mickey Mayton at Aberdeen, WA. They are the parents of two children, Joyce Lemmon and Paul (Kim) Flack.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Wayne Flack of Clermont.
Surviving are his wife, Mickey; son, Paul (Kim) Flack; daughter, Joyce Lemmon; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Flack of Postville; a sister, Jean M. Larson of Waukon; a sister-in-law, Ethel Flack of Clermont; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Manford belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3057.
Military interment was at the Aberdeen Fern Hill Cemetery.
After becoming ill, Manford moved from Aberdeen, WA, to Friday Harbor, WA, to be near his son, where he passed away from cancer at 86 years old.
