Miss Anna Emily Schreiber was born July 29, 1873, the daughter of Joseph Schreiber, deceased, and her entire life was spent in this neighborhood. In September 1906, she was confirmed with two of her sisters and thereby became a member of the Zion Reformed Church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. A week before her demise she was stricken with influenza which her frail health made it impossible to overcome, and in spite of all the tender care which her sister, Mrs. Ernest Dee, gave her, she failed to rally and succumbed on Good Friday, March 30, 1923 aged 49 years, 8 months, and one day.
She was an unassuming, home-loving woman. Although it was not given her to have a home of her own, she treasured the home, which she found with her sister, Mrs. Dee. Her helpful disposition endeared her to all who learned to know her and the news of her departure brought expressions of regret from a large circle of friends. Quietly as she had lived she passed out of this life into a better home, but she will be sadly missed.
She leaves to mourn her departure four sisters, Mrs. Ben Haas, Mrs. Ed Bensch of Lansing, Mrs. Ferd Haas, and Mrs. Ernest Dee.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Zion Reformed Church, conducted by Pastor Ernst, followed by interment in Oakland Cemetery.
