JANESVILLE, Iowa - Georgia Ann Carol Nuehring Bruns, 57, of Janesville, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.
She was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Waterloo, daughter of George and Mabel Grossman Nuehring. She married James Bruns on May 8, 1982, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Janesville.
She obtained her general education degree and a degree in accounting from Hawkeye Community College.
She worked for Maid Rite in Waterloo, the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home and as a part-time accountant. She was a member of Heartland Vineyard Church and the Lutheran Home Union.
Survived by: her husband; two sons, Scott (Briana) Hilmer of Denver and Robert Lockhart (fiancee Melissa) of Waterloo; two grandsons, Blake and Zachary Hilmer; a brother, Robert (Dorothy Ann) Nuehring of Polk City; and two sisters, Carol (Dwight) Ryan of Holland and Beverly (Rolf) Brockman of Arkansas.
Preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Oliver Nuehring; and a sister, Virginia.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Heartland Vineyard Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.
She was a person who unconditionally loved and gave of herself; even if she didn't know your name, she knew your heart. Her enjoyments included cooking, collecting recipes, cats and dogs, camping, fishing, gardening, genealogy, entertaining family during the holidays and attending her grandkids' sporting events.
