Robert R. Kloke, 80, of Waukon, died Sat., Dec. 23, 2000 at Veterans Memorial hospital in Waukon following a brief illness.

Funeral services were Wed., Dec. 27 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville. Rev. James Walker officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family.

Robert Ralph Kloke was born April 12, 1920 on the Ludlow Township, rural Waukon farm of his parents, Albert John and Esther Anna (Duvel) Kloke. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and attended Ludlow #7 rural school.

On March 18, 1943 he married Eleanor Geving at the Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church parsonage in rural Waterville. He farmed in the Ludlow area for a time before moving to Prairie du Chien, WI, and later Janesville, WI, where he worked for over 30 years as a carpenter. In 1980 he returned to Waukon, where he has lived ever since.

Robert was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Janesville. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, woodworking, playing cards, drives in the countryside, and going out to eat. He was a very willing helper to neighbors and friends with carpentry work, odd jobs, and lawn care. He also enjoyed attending community events and special family occasions.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor, and a sister, Mary Ann Miller. Survivors include a sister, Bernita Hanson, of Waukon; and two brothers, Leo (Dorothy) Kloke and Milo (Ruby) Kloke, both of Waukon.

Casketbearers were Dennis and Wayne Kloke, Richard and James Hanson, Larry Kloke, and Chuck Bloxham.
