Billy Joe Gordon, age 28, of Waukon died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 17 at Hanson Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Iles officiating. Burial was in New Albin Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers were Jamie Paul Knowles and Chastity Keith Greene.

Billy was born September 2, 1981 in West Union. After high school graduation he served in the U.S. Army in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, mud running and MMA fighting.

Survivors include his five brothers, John (Bess) of Fredericksburg, Elmer (Rose), David of Michigan, Lawrence of Independence, and Ray (Deb) of Dorchester; and five sisters, Becky (Russ) Phillips of Oelwein, Patty (Ed) Shawley of LaCrosse, WI, Judy Ross of LaCrosse, WI, Susan Worth of Oelwein, and Grace Gordon of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Gordon, and his grandparents.

Billy left behind a large family, including 26 nieces and nephews who will miss him so much. He was loved more than he knew. Billy was our wild child who will be missed by his family and friends and his beloved dog, Baby. Billy was always there to offer a helping hand to anyone. Goodbye, Guillermo Gordamos.
