Funeral services for Marie Kuntz were held Wednesday, July 13 at St. Pius Church in Cherry Mound. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Father Donald Hutchinson officiated.

She died Monday, July 11 at The Good Samaritan Home where she had lived for a short time. She was 80 years old.

Marie Kuntz was born March 9, 1908 in Paint Creek Township to William and Mary Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pius church. Her education was received at the Kelly country school and at the Waterville consolidated school.

In the 1930's she was a clerk at the Waterville Equity Store and Ragsdales Clover Farm Store. On June 20, 1934 she and Carl McCormick were married and farmed her parents' farm. Carl died October 11, 1960.

In 1964 she moved to Waterville. She and Louie Kuntz of Fairmont, MN, were married in 1964. He was a retired carpenter and she clerked at Leiran's Store. He died Dec. 17, 1976.

She was a member of St. Pius church, the Rosary Society and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two first cousins, Richard Hermanson, Sr., Waukon and Irene Gourley, Dubuque; several other cousins and in-laws.

Casket bearers were Lawrence Benda, Willard Leiran, John Donahue, Jim McCormick, Earl Fish and James Houlihan.

Hanson's Funeral Home in Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
