Funeral services for Emma Kolsrud were held at East Paint Creek Synod Church, north of Waterville, on Monday, July 25, at 1 p.m. Burial was in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.

She died Friday, July 22 at Northgate Manor where she had been a resident for 1½ years.

Emma Kolsrud, daughter of Holger and Caroline Busness, was born Nov. 16, 1897 in the Waterville area. She was educated in the Paint Creek Township schools and graduated from Waukon High School.

She married Helmer Kolsrud November 28, 1923. The couple had one son, Robert.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Helmer, who died in 1974; 2 brothers, Carl and Otis and 2 sisters, Nora Leiran and Mabel Toot.

Survivors include her son, Robert and wife Eunice; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Holger, Jr. and a sister, Martha Bjerke, both of Waukon.

Casket bearers were Norman Leiran, Willard Leiran, Richard Leiran, Raymond Busness, Ordell Bjerke and Ernest Bjerke.
