HARDIN- At the home of his son-in-law, Angus Gordon, on Wednesday, March 2nd, 1898, Enoch Hardin, lacking but two days of 84 years of age.
Mr. Hardin was born in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, March 4th, 1814. At the age of nine he came with his mother and family to Morgan county, Ohio. On March 5th, 1839 he was married to Eliza Dennis. In Sept. 1855 he moved with this family to Post township where he has since resided. Ten children were born to them, five of which with the wife survive their father and husband.
We have known Mr. Hardin quite intimately for twenty-three years, and found him uniformly honest and upright in every transaction. He was a friend to everybody and everybody was his friend. He made no pretensions, was quiet and unassuming, but the world produces few better men at heart then Enoch Hardin. He was not bed sick until last Saturday, and died without great suffering. His funeral will be held this afternoon from the M.E. church at two o'clock. And so we say farewell to our neighbor and friend, and tender our sympathy to those who are left to mourn.
