Raymond Klees Laid to Rest
Funeral services for Raymond R. Klees, 64, were held Wednesday, December 26, 1979, at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Carroll Brown officiated. Pallbearers were Jim Klinkel, Stan Ewing, Eugene Deal, Andrew Koontz, Vern Haberichter, and Harold Walters. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Raymond Roy Klees, the son of Frank W. and Etta (Cowell) Klees, was born November 17, 1915, in Linton Township, Allamakee County. He grew up at their farm home near Rossville and attended rural school in Volney.
Ray was a farmer with a love of nature; farming first with his father, and then continuing on the home farm until his own retirement three years ago. Since his retirement, he had made his home with his sister, Mrs. John Kelly.
Ray was a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, coming from the former Volney United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul.
Raymond is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John (Clara) Kelly of Harpers Ferry, and Mrs. Everett (Marie) McKee of Postville, and nieces, nephews, and friends.
