Funeral services for Renee Knight were held Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. Rev. Terrance P. Hennesy officiated. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Renee Jeanine Knight, daughter of Roy and Elaine (Zurbriggen) Knight, was born April 1, 1947 at West Union, Iowa. She died Sunday, August 9 in University Hospitals at Iowa City, Iowa.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. Renee was a graduate from Postville Community Schools in 1965.

She was employed by National Air Lines in New York City and also lived and worked in Los Angeles and New Orleans. For one year she did full time volunteer work at the Hippocrates Cancer Treatment Center in California.

She moved back to Iowa in 1977 and shared her life with Don Praska. At the time of her death, she was attending nurses training at Northeast Iowa Technical Institute at Calmar. She was also serving on the town council at Jackson Junction.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Knight, who died in 1976.

Surviving are Don Praska, her mother, Elaine Kenney of Hazleton, 2 brothers, Jack of rural Luana and Noel of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Janice Coffeen of Wray, Colorado.

Renee was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Waukon.

Casket bearers were Steve McGarger, Jack Spear, Steven Tope, Craig Scott, Dave Karnik, Jerry Korzendorfer.
