Rites For Mrs. Oldag On Friday

Mrs. Leonard Oldag, Velva Gilson, was born on April 5, 1916 in Rossville, Iowa, the daughter of John Gilson and Wilma McCracken Gilson. She was educated in the Waukon Public Schools. She was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on October 11, 1936.

She was married to Leonard Oldag on February 12, 1935. To this union were born three children: Luane, Janice and John. Mr. and Mrs. Oldag farmed northeast of Postville until three years ago, when they moved to town.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and one daughter, Luane.

She is survived by her parents; her husband; two children, Janice and John; one brother, Eugene Gilson of St. Paul; one sister, Jessie, Mrs. George Rush , of Morris Plaines, New Jersey.

She passed away at the Postville Hospital on December 21, 1958 after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, with the pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Witt, officiating. Burial will be in the Postville cemetery.
